About Cadence

Hi! I'm Travis. After spending 7 years at 1Password building its best-in-class end user experience for millions of people around the world, I've created Cadence Money. Cadence is the personal finance app I've wanted to make for years to help others get ahead no matter where they are in their financial journey.

During my university days into my early career, I really struggled to make sense of money. I was deep in debt, spending everything I made and thought investing was something out of reach. In 2019, I was tired of living this way. I wanted to look forward to my financial future - not dread it.

I started watching videos from accredited financial voices, visited communities of people that used to be in the same spot as I was and learnt what investing actually meant. Most importantly, I started to actually track my spending and budget.

A spreadsheet, notes app and 1Password Secure Note became my makeshift suite of budgeting tools that along with some great financial advice, got me out of those hard times. I'm now at a point where I look forward to my financial future and yes, invest.

However, my situation wasn't unique and many find themselves in it today. Finances have never been easy and its more important than ever to make sure you're setting yourself and your family up in the best way possible. Whether you're getting out of debt, saving for a new vehicle or planning your retirement, my hope is that Cadence makes it easier to do those things and more.
