Getting Started

Create your account and set up Cadence with the onboarding wizard.

Creating Your Account

Setting up Cadence takes just a few minutes. Follow these steps to create your account:

  1. Enter your email address and choose a secure password on the signup form.
  2. Check your inbox for a verification email and click the confirmation link to activate your account.
  3. Sign in and start the onboarding wizard.

Every new account includes a 14-day free trial with full access to all features, so you can explore everything Cadence has to offer before committing.

The Onboarding Wizard

After creating your account, the onboarding wizard walks you through setting up your financial profile. Base-tier accounts see seven steps; on Cadence+ and Premium there's an eighth step for connecting a bank so transactions and balances can sync automatically:

  1. Welcome to Cadence— A quick introduction to Cadence and what to expect.
  2. Connect Your Bank— On Cadence+ and Premium, link a bank to sync transactions and balances automatically. This step only appears on syncing tiers.
  3. Income Sources— Add your salary, freelance income, or any other recurring income.
  4. Bills— Enter your recurring expenses like rent, utilities, and subscriptions.
  5. Create Budgets— Set up spending categories and assign monthly limits.
  6. Accounts, Assets & Credit/Loans— Add bank accounts, investments, and other assets and debts to track your net worth.
  7. Goals— Define savings goals or debt payoff targets to stay motivated.
  8. Review & Finish— Review everything you entered and make any final adjustments.
Tip:Most steps can be skipped and completed later from their section in the app — Connect Your Bank, Bills, Create Budgets, Accounts/Assets, and Goals are all optional. The Welcome, Income Sources, and Review steps are part of the core flow. Don't feel pressured to fill everything out at once.

Next Steps After Onboarding

Once you finish the wizard, you'll land on your Dashboard. From there, here are a few things to explore:

  1. Take a look around the dashboard to see your financial snapshot, charts, and widgets.
  2. Set up your budgets to start tracking your spending against targets.
  3. Connect your bank accounts to automatically sync transactions and account balances.
