Account & Subscription
Your profile, your plan, and how to change or end either one.
Updated
Profile Information
Update your name and email address from Settings → Account. Your profile picture is a coloured avatar showing your initials - there is no photo to upload.
Changing your email address requires verification through a confirmation link sent to the new address, so you will need access to it.
Communication Preferences
Also under Settings → Account, these control whether you opt in to product news, marketing and research invitations.
They are separate from your alert settings, which live in the top-level Notifications section. Turning marketing off does not affect your bill reminders.
The Four Plans
| Plan | Bank syncing | Everything else |
|---|---|---|
| Cadence | None - manual entry and CSV import | All features |
| Cadence+ | Up to 3 banks | All features |
| Cadence Premium | Unlimited banks | All features |
| Cadence Lifetime | None - add the Bank Sync add-on separately | All features |
All plans include the same features. The only difference is the number of synced bank connections, which rely on a third-party service that carries an ongoing cost. Support is the same on every plan.
Cadence Lifetime is a one-time purchase rather than a subscription. Like the base plan it does not include syncing, but you can add it with the Bank Sync add-on - see Synced Accounts.
The Free Trial
Every new account starts with a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. A payment method is required up front to begin the trial, but you are not charged until it ends - cancel any time before then to avoid being billed.
Managing Your Subscription
Go to Settings → Account and tap Manage Subscription. Where that takes you depends on how you subscribed, and the button knows which applies to you:
- Subscribed on the web - the secure Stripe billing portal opens, where you can change your plan, cancel, update your payment method and view past invoices in one place.
- Subscribed through the App Store - Apple handles the billing, so you are taken to Apple’s subscription settings instead. On an iPhone or iPad that opens Apple’s own panel inside the app; on the web or on Android it opens your Apple account’s subscriptions page in the browser.
Only Apple can change an App Store subscription
There is no Cadence-side cancel button for one, and the Stripe portal will not show it. You can also reach it outside the app, from Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on your device.
Upgrading charges the prorated difference for the remainder of your billing period. Downgrading takes effect at your next renewal, so you keep your current features until then.
If you were given a complimentary plan rather than buying one, there is nothing to manage and no button appears. To change it, email support@cadencemoney.com.
Cancelling
Open Manage Subscription and cancel from wherever it takes you - the Stripe portal, or Apple’s subscription settings. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period, and you can resubscribe any time to pick up where you left off. Your data is preserved.
Bank connections are treated differently from your data
Syncing stops when your subscription lapses, and if you do not resubscribe the connections themselves are removed: the day after your access ends if you were still on the trial, or two weeks after if you were a paying subscriber. Paying subscribers get an email a week beforehand.
Your transaction history is kept either way. You would just need to link each bank again when you come back.
Tip
If you are considering cancelling, email us at support@cadencemoney.com. We would rather hear what is not working than watch you go quietly.
Deleting Your Account
Go to Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete Account. Deletion is a 30-day soft delete: your data is scheduled for removal but held during a restore window, so you can sign back in and reactivate if you change your mind. After the window passes, your financial data, preferences and history are permanently removed.
Cancel your subscription first. Deletion is blocked while one is live, so you cannot be billed for an account you no longer have. Your bank connections are disconnected immediately either way. Full detail in Privacy & Data Management.
