Notifications & Reminders

Configure bill reminders, insight alerts, and email notification preferences.

Notification Categories

Cadence groups alerts into categories you can enable or disable individually from Settings → Notifications:

  • Security— Sign-ins, password and 2FA changes, and other account-safety events.
  • Connection Health— When a linked bank needs attention or a sync connection breaks.
  • Money Activity— Budget, bills, and income updates, including reminders before your bills are due.
  • Progress & Insights— Insight alerts like unusual spending, a budget nearing its limit, or a goal milestone.
  • System— App announcements and important service updates.
  • Transaction Sync— Updates about new and imported transactions from your synced accounts.

Email Notifications

Cadence has a single “Email Notifications” toggle in Settings → Notifications that sends emails for all of your enabled alerts at once. There are no separate email toggles per category— turning it on emails everything you’ve enabled, and turning it off stops emails entirely.

To choose which alerts you get, use the per-category switches above. The universal email toggle then applies to whichever categories you leave enabled.

Managing Notification Preferences

To adjust your preferences:

  1. Go to Settings → Notifications.
  2. Enable or disable each category to control which alerts you get.
  3. Use the universal Email Notifications toggle to turn emails on or off for all enabled categories.
  4. Changes take effect immediately.

Good to Know

Even with email notifications turned off, you'll still see insight cards and bill reminders inside the app. Email notifications are an additional channel, not a replacement.
