Dashboard Widgets

Customise your dashboard by hiding, showing, and reordering the widgets that matter most to you.

Why Customise

The dashboard tries to give a useful default - charts at the top, common widgets below - but everyone's priorities are different. If you live in your budgets, you probably want budget progress front and centre. If you're focused on a savings goal, the goals widget should be where your eye lands first.

Customising your dashboard lets you keep the widgets you actually use near the top, hide the ones you don't, and shape a layout that matches how you think about your money.

Available Widgets

Cadence offers a range of customisable dashboard widgets, including:

  • Recent Activity - your latest transactions across accounts.
  • Suggestions - observations and recommendations from Cadence.
  • Upcoming Activities - scheduled bills and expected income.
  • Monthly Budgets - spending pace against your monthly budgets.
  • Insights - trends and observations about your money.
  • Favourite Holdings - the holdings you've starred.
  • Favourite Net Worth - the net worth items you've starred.
  • Annual Budgets - progress on your annual budget categories.
  • Goals - progress towards your savings and payoff targets.

A couple of widgets, Unbudgeted Activity and Reconnect Banks, appear on their own only when there's something to show and hide themselves the rest of the time.

The net worth and budget-trend charts at the top of the dashboard aren't widgets in this list - they're a fixed element the customiser leaves in place. You can choose which of the two shows by default, but you can't hide or reorder them.

The exact set of widgets available may evolve as new features ship, but the customisation experience stays the same.

Hiding or Showing a Widget

To change which widgets appear, open the dashboard customisation panel from the dashboard itself using the "Customise" control.

  1. Open the customisation panel.
  2. Find the widget you want to change in the list.
  3. Toggle it on to display, or off to hide.
  4. Press Save to apply your changes.

Hidden widgets are never deleted. You can bring them back at any time by toggling them on again.

Reordering Widgets

Once you've picked the widgets you want, you can reorder them so the most important ones appear first. Inside the customiser panel, grab the drag handle on each row and move it up or down. It works the same way on desktop and mobile.

Reordering is staged along with your other changes. Press Save to apply the new order, or Reset to discard your edits. Once saved, the order applies the next time you open the app on any device.

Mobile vs Desktop Layout

Some widgets are wider than others. On desktop, Cadence places smaller widgets side by side to make use of the available space. On mobile, everything stacks into a single column for readability.

You don't need to manage two separate layouts. The order you choose carries across, and Cadence handles the responsive layout automatically. For more on the dashboard as a whole, see the Dashboard article.

Tip: Hide widgets you never use. The dashboard loads faster, and the widgets you do care about move up the page where you can reach them sooner.
