Dashboard Widgets

Keeping what you use near the top, and hiding what you never open.

Updated

Why Customise

The default layout is a reasonable guess, but everyone’s priorities differ. If you live in your budgets, budget progress should be the first thing you see. If you are focused on a savings goal, the goals widget should be where your eye lands.

Hiding what you never use is the other half of it: the dashboard loads faster and the widgets you do care about move up the page.

Available Widgets

  • Recent Activity - your latest transactions across accounts.
  • Suggestions - observations and recommendations from Cadence.
  • Upcoming Activities - scheduled bills and expected income.
  • Monthly Budgets - spending pace against your monthly budgets.
  • Annual Budgets - progress on your annual budget categories.
  • Insights - trends and observations about your money.
  • Goals - progress towards your targets.
  • Favourite Holdings - the holdings you have starred.
  • Favourite Net Worth - the net worth items you have starred.

The exact set may grow as new features ship, but the customisation experience stays the same.

The Two That Appear on Their Own

Needs Review and Reconnect Banks are not in the customiser. They show up only when there is something to act on and hide themselves the rest of the time.

Needs Review collects transactions still waiting on a decision from you - anything missing a budget, missing a category, or a refund you have not linked to an expense yet - and each row says which of those it is.

You cannot switch these two off

That is intentional: both are lists of things only you can resolve, and a hidden one would simply grow. Clearing the list is what makes the widget disappear.

The Chart Is Not a Widget

The net worth and spending trend charts at the top of the dashboard are a fixed element the customiser leaves in place. You can choose which of the two shows by default, but you cannot hide or reorder them. See Chart & Graph Modes.

Hiding or Showing a Widget

  1. Open the customisation panel with Customise at the bottom of the dashboard.
  2. Find the widget in the list.
  3. Toggle it on to display, or off to hide.
  4. Press Save to apply.

Hidden widgets are never deleted, and nothing behind them is affected. Toggle one back on whenever you like.

Reordering

Inside the customiser, grab the drag handle on each row and move it up or down. It works the same on desktop and mobile.

Reordering is staged along with your other changes. Press Save to apply, or Reset to discard. Once saved, the order applies the next time you open the app on any device.

Mobile vs Desktop Layout

Some widgets are wider than others. On desktop, Cadence places smaller widgets side by side to use the space. On mobile, everything stacks into a single column.

You do not manage two layouts. The order you choose carries across and the responsive layout is handled for you.

These are the in-app widgets. The ones on your phone’s home screen are separate - see Home-Screen Widgets.
