Smart Features

How Cadence learns your preferences and automates categorisation.

Smart Categories

When a new transaction comes in, Cadence suggests a category based on the merchant name. It matches against known merchant patterns to automatically assign categories like Groceries, Coffee & Cafes, or Transit & Rideshare, saving you from categorising every transaction by hand.

Category Learning

When you correct a transaction’s category, Cadence remembers that correction. After you make the same correction two or three times for the same merchant, Cadence becomes confident enough to auto-apply your preferred category for future transactions from that merchant. The more you use Cadence, the smarter it gets at matching your preferences.

Transaction Name Suggestions

When adding a manual transaction, Cadence suggests transaction names as you type based on your history. This speeds up data entry and helps keep your transaction names consistent.

Convert to Recurring

Spot a transaction that happens regularly? Turn it into a recurring bill or income source with one tap. Cadence will create a recurring expense entry with the details pre-filled from the original transaction.

Managing Automations

You can toggle individual smart features on or off in Settings → Suggestions. If category learning suggestions aren’t matching your preferences, you can clear all learned category preferences and start fresh.
