Home-Screen Widgets

Add Cadence widgets to your iOS or Android home screen for an at-a-glance view of your finances.

Widgets You Can Add

Cadence offers four home-screen widgets on both iOS and Android, so your key numbers are visible without opening the app:

  • Left to Spend— How much of this month’s budget remains, with a spending trend and a projected line to month-end. It turns red when you go over.
  • Net Worth— Your latest net worth and how it has changed over a time range you can choose, with a trend chart.
  • Recent Activity— Your most recent transactions, each with a merchant logo, name, date, and amount.
  • Upcoming Activity— Your next bills and income, with due-date labels like Today, Tomorrow, or Overdue.

These are separate from the in-app dashboard widgets you arrange inside Cadence.

Adding a Widget

Widgets are added through your phone’s normal widget picker:

  • iPhone— Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen, tap the + in the corner, search for Cadence, choose a widget and size, then tap Add Widget.
  • Android— Touch and hold an empty area of the Home screen, tap Widgets, find Cadence, then drag the widget you want onto your Home screen.

Setting Them Up

There is no widget setting to switch on. Just open Cadence and sign in (and pass two-factor authentication if you use it) — Cadence then securely links your widgets to your account automatically, so they start showing real data within a few minutes.

Until that happens, a widget shows a prompt to open Cadence and sign in to set up widgets. You may also see a short hint if there is nothing to show yet, such as when you haven’t set up budgets or added any accounts. Signing out of the app clears your widgets; letting a session simply expire keeps them working.

Sizes & Options

On iOS, Left to Spend and Net Worth come in small and medium sizes, while Recent Activity and Upcoming Activity are medium. On Android, every widget can be resized on your Home screen.

To change the Net Worth time range:

  • iPhone— Touch and hold the widget, tap Edit Widget, then pick a Time Range.
  • Android— Tap the range labels (1M, 3M, 6M, YTD, 1Y, 5Y, All) shown on a wider Net Worth widget.

How Often They Update

Widgets refresh on their own roughly every 30 minutes, and they update right away whenever you open the Cadence app. Your phone’s operating system controls the exact timing, so it can vary. The Net Worth figure is based on your latest daily snapshot, so it may be up to a day behind the live number you see in the app.

Privacy on Your Home Screen

A home-screen widget shows your numbers to anyone who can see your screen. On iPhone, Cadence marks these amounts as sensitive, so they follow iOS’s setting for hiding sensitive widget content (for example on the Lock Screen). If you would rather not show balances at all, add only the Recent Activity or Upcoming Activity widget, or skip widgets entirely. Note that the in-app Privacy Mode blur applies inside the app and does not control what a widget shows.
